Stargazers in China are in for a feast for their eyes as three major meteor showers will hit the earth one by one from end of this month.

The first to come is the Alpha-Aurigids meteor shower, which has appeared since last week and will light up the sky today and tomorrow, China News Service quoted Zijinshan Observatory as saying.

Alpha-Aurigids will be tightly followed by the Perseids shower, which is supposed to show up from next Sunday to September 13. The last will be the Delta-Aurigids that will become active until mid-October.

Due to their similarity in celestial position as well as color and speed of meteors, the three showers were identified as "Near-Auriga Showers" by astrologists.
