A 10-year-old girl from Shiyan, Hubei province, faked her own kidnapping not once but twice last month to test her parents' love for her.

The first time, the girl was found inside a bag dumped in front of an abandoned house.

Unhurt, she said six men had kidnapped her. The police, however, could find no evidence of the girl's claim.

Two weeks later, the police received another call from the girl's parents, this time saying both their daughter and their son were missing.

The following day, the police raided a deserted house and found the girl trying to move a rock to block the entrance.

The girl later admitted to have faked both the kidnappings to see if her parents loved her. She said they always paid more attention to her younger brother.
