Posing as a police officer in the children’s re-enactment show I Love Family, the chubby Shasha cried and pleaded “Don’t kill me!” when the supposed suspect she was instructed to “keep an eye on” tried to chat to her and then fled.

While you may have thought, dear reader, her tears would have earned sympathy, in fact they were seen as hilarious.

It’s a cruel world!

The video clip was uploaded on the Internet and she was subsequently dubbed shi kong jie,or out-of-control sister.

Following up on her success, Shasha then appeared on another two TV programs, transforming into a salesperson and a flight attendant, who had to face hard-to-please customers.

In one of the shows, when a passenger asked for water, Shasha suddenly lost her composure, saying, “There’s no water on the plane. Really sorry!”

As the passenger insisted on water, Shasha burst into tears, saying, “Really, really, sorry, the plane company is poor.”

After the two new shows were aired, netizens started to express concern. They wondered whether she really was truly out of control, or had been manipulated by TV station bosses to repeat her over-the-top performances.

Also, she is only four-and-a-half years old.

“It’s a bit extreme to scare a child into a state of nervous exhaustion and tears just to drive up viewer ratings,” said one netizen named “Forever Spring Summer”

Some viewers have added that it’s no fun any more to see her doing the same trick again and again.

Even so, Shasha already has a fan base of nearly 10,000 netizens, who follow her every move on her Sina Weibo microblog account.

Her “ghost blogger,” presumably her parents, writes posts in a cutesy tone.

When contacted by reporters, the girl’s agent Mr Lei clarified that Shasha knows it’s just role play on the shows, but as she is quite young and this is how she responds in real life, she is simply expressing her feelings while being filmed.

Lei admitted it would not be a good thing for Shasha to keep doing the same kind of performances. She is an outgoing child and they will present a happier and more positive image in future programs, he added.
