A cold snap with snow and rain will hit south China over the coming four days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Wednesday. But it will not be as severe as the one that hit last week.

Snowfalls will hit Guizhou Province, Chongqing Municipality, western and northern parts of Hunan Province, southern Hubei Province, central and southern parts of Anhui Province, central and southern parts of Jiangsu Province and northern Zhejiang Province.

Snow and sleet has plagued southwest China's Yunnan Province this month, affecting 4.265 million residents and leaving one person dead and 472 sick or wounded as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The NMC advised the public to be on their guard against slippery road conditions.
