A total of 210 travelers trapped by heavy snow on a highway were rescued Friday afternoon in Tacheng (Qoqek), northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, said local police.

After 38 hours of efforts, traffic was again flowing on the highway. All stuck vehicles had been freed, said the local police.

Heavy snow hit Tacheng on Wednesday, blocking roads and trapping vehicles.

Local police had rescued all the 54 cars and 210 travelers trapped on the roads near Tacheng.
