Beijing's civil servants' exam registration website was paralyzed as 82 million visits flooded the website for on-line registration as of 4p.m. on Monday, the Beijing Morning Post reported.

This year is the first time that the Beijing's civil servant examination is opened to graduates from outside of the city. Graduates with a bachelor's degree or higher can apply for government positions in the capital city if they meet certain requirements such as being student leaders or having good performances from their respective universities.

The favorable policy has attracted more applicants for civil servant posts in Beijing with registrations at training institutions for the examination also increasing dramatically.

Education experts said more favorable policies are expected for Beijing's civil servants' exam and suggested applicants should consider both the requirements and their personal interests when choosing their targeted positions and registering.

The civil servants' examination for positions in Beijing will be held only once this year, compared to twice every year as was previously the case. Registration time for the exam is from March 7 to 11.
