Three-quarters of high school students have difficulty communicating with their parents and 56% have problems dealing with people in general, according to a survey published in Beijing yesterday, Xinhua reported.

The survey, conducted by the China Population Communication Center, polled 3,500 students in middle schools, high schools and universities across China.

Many high school students said that they don't know how to communicate with strangers. "Our education system is too school-centered. The role of parents and society is neglected," said Zhang Hanxiang, director of the center.
