The Liaoning Provincial Higher People's Court recently rejected the appeal of a man sentenced to death for the stabbing murder of two law enforcement officers, Xinhua reports.

Xia Junfeng, a vendor from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, was punished for setting up an illegal street stall. While at the urban administrative bureau, he argued with officers and stabbed them with knives, killing two and injuring one.

Xia said the officers had beaten them and reacted in self-defense.
