A Beijing-bound Hainan Airlines flight HU7297 departed Ningbo Lishe International Airport ahead of schedule on May 8 because of a "very important passenger," Zhejiang Online reports.

The flight, which was supposed to take off at 9 pm, ended up departing sometime earlier, before another Hainan flight HU7197 scheduled for a 6 pm departure that had been delayed for bad weather conditions.

Despite complaints from the passengers on the delayed flight, an airport representative said that leaders at the vice-ministerial level and higher can request an earlier take-off if conditions permit.
