A man in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, was refused a job because he had no girlfriend.

The man, surnamed Zeng, 23, posted an account of a job interview online recently, saying that the first question he had been asked by the interviewer had been over whether he had a girlfriend. After answering he had no girlfriend, he was refused the job.

Sun Kui, owner and manager of the company that refused Zeng, said that his girlfriend had left him several years ago, when they had worked in different places after graduating from college.
