Dubbed "Sister Broom" by web users, Zhang Xiufang has invented an act that combines taiji with her daily routine work. She became famous after a video of her "show" received more than 30,000 hits on the web in two days.

Zhang has been invited to many TV talent shows, including CCTV's Walk of Fame.

Zhang's superior, a woman surnamed Yu, told reporters that Zhang's 20 days' absence from work in one month aroused dissatisfaction from her shift partner, who had to do double her amount of work.

Zhang agreed to leave, but has expressed a wish to continue wearing her uniform for stage performances. "I was a street sweeper when I attracted audiences' attention, but now I am not anymore."

"I want to show my colleagues that everyone can have a dream," Zhang added.

She hopes to find a job which can both support her financially and give her the opportunity to practice her skill.
