New world record for number of bees on body

A man in Zizhou county, Shaanxi province, broke the world record for the weight of bees covering a person's body.

Zhang Wei, 27, a farmer in the county's Fengqu village and born in a family with a 50-year history of beekeeping, has a strong resistance to bee stings.

On May 27, Zhang stood on a scale wearing transparent goggles and with a breathing tube in his mouth, as more than 80 boxes of bees were put on his body. Zhang had already put dozens of queen bees on his body, so the bees covered Zhang's body to follow their queens.

At about 3 pm, a staff member from the Guangzhou-based World Record Association and notaries from Zizhou county notary office made a joint certification that the weight of the bees on Zhang's body was 83.5 kilograms, breaking the previous world record of 60 kg, made in 2005 by a Colombian.
