A kindergarten in east China's Shandong Province has refused to compensate parents after a teacher admitted ill-treating children, Shandong Business News reported.

Parents in Jinan City said the teacher surnamed Ji at the Dafengche Kindergarten ordered children to stand with one leg, kneel or crouch with their hands covering their heads and pulled some girls' hair.

They also claim that she showed fantasy cartoon movie Coraline to the class, which left the young children frightened.

When parents confronted Ji at the kindergarten, the teacher admitted making children stand on one leg.

It is believed Ji took over the class this month after the usual teacher went on vacation. Parents said after being in her class their children refused to go to any kindergarten.

Parents are demanding an apology, a full refund of fees if they leave the kindergarten and compensation for mental anguish.

The director, surnamed Wang, agreed to sack Ji, but refused to pay compensation.
