Senior Chinese leader He Guoqiang on Sunday urged anti-graft officials nationwide to draw on past experience and resort to renovation to push forward the country's fight against corruption.

He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks at an anti-corruption seminar. The meeting also served the purpose for discipline inspection departments across the country to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

"We should use the precious experience of the past 90 years -- especially those since the reform and opening-up -- to push forward the drive to curb corruption," said He, also head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

He urged discipline inspection officials to scientifically analyze the current anti-graft trend and fully realize the "severity" of various corruption phenomena.

He called for equal attention to prevention of and punishment against corruption as well as scientific and effective measures to solve problems that the public are most concerned about.

At the meeting, 100 units and 300 individuals were honored for their outstanding achievements in discipline inspection.
