Chen Quanguo becomes new Party chief of Tibet

Chen Quanguo has been appointed secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region,the CPC Central Committee announced Thursday.

Chen Quanguo, male, Han Nationality, was born in 1955. He is a native of Pingyu, Henan Province. He joined the CPC in 1976 and graduated from the Economics Department of Zhengzhou University. He was a Postgraduate at Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University. Master of Economics.

In 2010 he became Governor of Hebei Province and he is also an Alternate Member of 17th CPC Central Committee.

Zhang Qingli, Chen's predecessor, will be moved to another position, the CPC Central Committee said in a statement.

In addition, Qin Guangrong has been appointed secretary of southwest China's Yunnan Provincial Committee of the CPC, replacing Bai Enpei, according to the statement.

Luo Baoming has been appointed secretary of south China's Hainan Provincial Committee of the CPC, replacing Wei Liucheng, the statement said.
