Sun Chunlan was elected Communist Party chief of southeast China's Fujian Province on Saturday.
Sun was elected secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the first plenary session of the 9th CPC Fujian Provincial Committee in the provincial capital of Fuzhou.
Before taking the same position of Fujian's top official in November 2009, she was Party chief and deputy chair of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU).
Sun was born in 1950 in Raoyang, Hebei Province, and joined the CPC in 1973.
Su Shulin and Chen Wenqing were elected deputy and vice secretaries, respectively, under Sun.
The 49-year-old technocrat Su, who is also Fujian governor, was formerly among the top management of the China National Petroleum Corporation, the sixth-ranked Fortune 500 company in 2011.
