Organic food has become increasingly more popular in the market. But along with the expansion of variety, the authentication process is also failing to improve, Legal Daily reported.

Besides high prices and exquisite packing, the "organic food" labels are what make this sort of healthy food unique. But in reality, most labels donโ€™t show a certification serial number as required by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the watchdog agency; instead, a sticker that says "organic" would usually get by.

One egg peddler who did not sell organic eggs noted that most organic-labeled eggs in the market were not really "organic," and the stickers were available from a nearby photocopy shop. Worse still, agencies that did not have the certification authority began to profit in the messy waters. They admit that money is the solution for all, with one agency saying "some 20,000-30,000 yuan, and several banquets will make the deal."
