A senior official with the discipline watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday called on Party members in all departments under the CPC Central Committee to improve the Party's work style, build a clean government and fight against corruption.

He Yong, deputy secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), urged Party members to defend the purity of the Party and work to build their departments into pragmatic and clean ones.

He made the remarks at a work conference on Party discipline and inspection in all departments under the CPC Central Committee on Monday, during which he also called for the strict enforcement of anti-corruption disciplines for Party officials and the implementation of supervision regulations within the Party.

He's remarks came after Hu Jintao, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a related speech at a plenary session of the CCDI last Monday.

In his speech, Hu said the Party will combine cracking down on corruption and preventing graft, and called for strictly implementing regulations concerning incorruptibility and self-discipline, and firmly investigating cases involving corruption.
