Wang Sanyun elected Party chief of NW China's Gansu

Wang Sanyun was elected secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday.

The election was held at the first plenary session of the 12th CPC Gansu Provincial Committee.

Before taking post in Gansu, Wang had worked as the governor and deputy party secretary of east China's Anhui Province between 2008 and 2011.

Born in 1952 in Shandong Province, Wang is an alternative member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
