Another protest against the dispute over Huangyan Island in the South China Sea was held in Beijing on Saturday, following a Friday protest.

Five Chinese citizens unfurled banners -- such as those reading, "Huangyan Island will always belong to China" and "Keep your hands off Huangyan Island" -- in front of the Philippine Embassy in China at noon on Saturday.

The protest was brief, as police quickly intervened and took the protesters away shortly after noon.

"Huangyan Island belongs to China," the protesters shouted as they were being escorted away by police.

A similar protest occurred Friday, also in front of the Philippine Embassy in China.

In Manila, about 200 Filipino activists held an anti-China demonstration outside of a Chinese consular office on Friday. The rally also ended shortly and peacefully.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei on Friday expressed concern over the security of Chinese citizens in the Philippines and hoped that the Philippine side would refrain from actions that could escalate tensions.
