More than 1,000 officials and professionals in southwest China's Sichuan province will be sent to the province's Tibetan areas for temporary positions to promote the development of those areas.

According to the provincial government, 1,345 officials and professional and technical personnel from the provincial departments and 16 cities of Sichuan will be chosen to serve 32 Tibetan counties and districts for two years.

Among them, there are 727 government and Communist Party officials and 618 professionals.

At the same time, 230 officials from the province's Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Aba Tibetan autonomous prefecture and Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture will be sent to work in other regions of Sichuan for one year.

The provincial government said the officials sent to the Tibetan areas should have rich working experience and be familiar with economic work, and the professionals should not only possess professional skills, but also have certain managerial experience.

In 2010, Sichuan decided to choose a group of officials and professionals to serve Tibetan areas every two years, and the first group was composed of 1,260 people.
