Airplane makes safe emergency landing.

A passenger airplane made an emergency landing at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at an airport near the east China city of Hangzhou after fuselage smoke was detected, and no injuries were reported.

Flight CZ6199, of China Southern Airlines, was traveling from Daqing, a city in northeast Heilongjiang province, to the southern city of Guangzhou, via Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province.

Smoke was detected seven minutes after the plane took off at 4:37 p.m. from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. The plane returned to the airport and made an emergency landing at 4:50 p.m., airport staff said.

A brief statement released via China Southern Airlines' official page on weibo.com, a popular microblogging site, said an investigation later found the smoke was in fact a mist produced by faulty airconditioning system.

The plane had 105 passengers on board at the time of the emergency landing.

Arrangements have been made to allow the passengers to take other aircraft to their destination, the company's statement said.
