The Central Compilation and Translation Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee has established a research center committed to providing information on development of Marxism and left-wing theory in other countries.

The center will advise the leading organs of the Party and state on the development of these theories in other parts of the world and aid them in related decision-making and theory building, the bureau's director Yi Junqing said on Thursday.

It will also be responsible for promoting academic exchanges, as well as compiling and publishing reports on research done by other countries on Marxism, Yi said.

The center will engage in key research related to the evolution of Marxism and new trends concerning the ideology.

A periodical featuring articles and commentary by foreign Marxism scholars was unveiled at the center's establishment ceremony held on Thursday.
