The survey, conducted by the China Population Communication Center (CPCC) under the National Population and Family Planning Commission among 3,000 women, shows that women believe that ideal sexual relations could largely improve their relationships with their partners.

According to the survey, 57.6 percent of respondents would not be willing to discuss their sexual feelings with their partners, and nearly 70 percent of women passively receive sex knowledge.

Due to the improper use of contraceptives, China sees a large amount of induced abortion procedures, said Gu Xiangying, an official with the Chinese Medical Association.

Also on Sunday, the CPCC kicked off a program to popularize contraception knowledge via brochures, online experts and free lectures in colleges and communities.
