The quadruplet brothers from Jinan, Shandong Province have been selected to serve on the Liaoning aircraft carrier, China's first such vessel which was commissioned on September 25, 2012, Anhui Commercial Daily reported.

Sun Changyu, Sun Changfeng, Sun Changling and Sun Changtao were all born on February 14th, 1993 and entered the armed forces in 2010. In 2011, they were trained in the Navy Bengbu NCO School in Anhui Province.

Cheng Jiasheng, an instructor who trained three out of the four, said that the oldest brother, Changyu studied sonar; the second in line, Changfeng and his youngest sibling, Changtao were interested in electronic warfare; and the number four, Changling studied the command and control of naval vessel.

Cheng said that the third brother in particular stood out during the five-month training course.

After their training, the four siblings applied to be dispatched to the aircraft carrier and had to make it through a long series of strict tests and interviews before being selected.

Cheng said that, apart from the four brothers, more than a dozen of other trainees whom he trained had made the cut, a fact in which he takes great pride.

The quadruplets' father Sun Jianmin said that he and several other relatives visited the four brothers at their camp in Dalian, Liaoning Province in early October. Their meeting was very brief and his boys did not tell him what they were doing for the sake of confidentiality, he said.

With all four of his sons serving on China's first aircraft carrier, he is indeed a very proud father, he added.
