A popular Japanese cyclist is helping people from a quake-hit area in southwest China, Beijing-based newspaper The Mirror reports on Thursday.
Kawahara Keiichiro flew from Beijing to Yiliang in Yunnan Province Wednesday afternoon, with over 50-kilograms of winter clothes and items from online donations.
Kawahara became known to the general public in China after his expensive bicycle was stolen in Wuhan in central China in mid-February, 2012. The bicycle was found a few days later, with the help of local police and Chinese netizens.
