Authorities in Panyu district of south China's Guangzhou city have announced that Cai Bin, a local senior administrator, whose family was revealed to be holding multiple housing properties, is under investigation.

According to a probe by the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, Cai took advantage of his position to accept money or valuables, and to run illegal enterprises while in office.

Cai was suspended from his position after it was found that he and his relatives possess more than 20 housing properties.
