Kunming subway train kills 1 in test run.[Photo/China.com]

An empty subway train in test derailed this morning in Kunming, capital southwestern Yunnan Province, killing one driver and injuring the other on board, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Several carriages of the train on a test run on the city's first Metro project suddenly derailed about 500 meters off one of the line's future stations. A heater device inside the cockpit collapsed and fell on the two drivers inside, causing one dead and other slightly injured, according to local government officials.

The city government said an investigation team had started probing into cause of the incident.
