Shan Zengde, the married former deputy director of the provincial agricultural department, was said to have been having sex with a single woman for six years, according to a November 28 post on weibo.com.

The case attracted netizen's attention after a Weibo post showed a picture of a hand-written promise to his mistress, Su Chunyuan, that he would divorce his wife and marry Su.

"According to the preliminary investigation, Shan's 'divorce promise' to his mistress is basically true," sources with the provincial government told Xinhua news agency on November 30.

Another official, Du Zeyong, former director of the labor union of Liaocheng City government, was seen wearing only underwear and vowing love to his mistress on a video made public on December 24.

A whistle-blower accused him on Weibo on December 26 of having sex with several women.

The city Party disciplinary watchdog on January 5 confirmed the accusations.
