A 61-year-old man from Guizhou Province's Zunyi city was fatally attacked by two vicious Dogo Argentino dogs while exercising yesterday morning. The dogs' owner has been detained.

The victim, surnamed Chen, was dragged more than ten meters and was ended up being bitten to death, with one arm eaten off, according to the report on Gog.com.cn.

One neighbor said the man was supposed to celebrate his 62th birthday that day.

Witness recalled how the two Dogo Argentino dogs had gotten so mad that even police could not stop them from biting. They remained out of control until their owner arrived two hours later.

Reports stated that the owner had been away for a few days and had no time to leave his dogs in somebody's care. Their reason for attacking the man may have been extreme hunger.

Dogo Argentino is one of the few dog breeds originating from South America. Being very powerful and aggressive, one Dogo Argentino can kill a wild boar and five of them together can actually go bear-hunting.
