A police dog was seen "crying” over the death of a rabid dog shot by local police Monday in Aizhong Village, Hengjie County of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, local newspaper Xiandai Jinbao reported .

Police were called after the rabid dog bit six villagers and killed more than ten of their chickens. Unable to locate the rabid dog on their own, the local police brought in a special patrol unit, which brought with it a well-trained police dog. The police dog quickly located the rabid dog hiding in a cove, where it was promptly shot to death.

"Though the police dog obeyed our order and helped us find out the mad dog, he shed tears when he saw a fellow dog shot to death,” said a local policeman.
