The Home Affairs Department is making every effort to assist people affected by a three-alarm fire in a building on King's Road in North Point on Sunday morning.

Fire erupted at a scaffolding outside Fung Wah Mansion on Cheung Hong street at around 7:23 am Sunday. More than 20 people were injured.

The department has opened the Causeway Bay Community Centre for people in need. At 6pm, 40 people had registered with the inter-departmental emergency help desk.

It has also set up help desks in the three hospitals in which the injured were admitted.

Officers from the department's Office of the Licensing Authority also visited a licensed guesthouse in the building to follow up.

The department will continue to look after affected residents' needs and provide assistance.
