Trapped miners in flooded coal mine rescued

All five miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in north China's Hebei Province have been rescued, authorities said Tuesday.

The accident happened in a shaft in Xiandewang coal mine in Xingtai City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday when 14 miners were working underground. One was killed and eight managed to escape while the other five were trapped.

According to the coal mine publicity department, the trapped miners had all been rescued as of 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
