A man has been arrested on suspicion of cutting off the testicles of four old men at a nursing home in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

Beijing News reported that when the warden was patrolling around the nursing home on Wednesday afternoon in Zhenxiang Town, Qinggang County, Harbin, he found blood stains and discovered the tragedy, which he immediately reported to the police.

Two victims, 53 and 80, lost one testicle each, and another 60-year-old lost both. Two of them were bedridden in the institution, while the third is mentally handicapped. The man tied up the three inpatients and removed their private parts with a dull razor.

One of the victims said the man who should be held responsible is a worker who helps to give the elderly residents food every day. The criminal incident took place on Tuesday, after the suspect, in his 30s, became involved in a spat with the old men about food leftovers.

Paramedics took the men to the hospital and they were treated accordingly. Their condition has now stabilized.

Another inpatient has had his testicles cut off, bringing the total number of castration victims to four, authorities said later on Thursday.

Police captured the suspect, surnamed Wang, in the evening.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
