The Chinese government says it will take three years to repair the damage from the 6.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Yunnan earlier this month.

A 200-million yuan reconstruction fund has been set up. That's around 30 million US dollars.

Officials say the earthquake has caused direct economic losses of some 60 billion yuan.

Meantime, a relief coordinator says the initial phase of relief work in the quake zone has been completed.

The earthquake left 617 people dead and over 3-thousand others injured.
