Taiwan held a seminar to mark the 69th anniversary of victory in the anti-Japanese aggression war on Wednesday.

Participants at the seminar reflected on the history of the war that lasted from 1937 to 1945 and warned of Japan's return to militarism.

"Japan should learn from its militarist aggression history and the U.S. shouldn't indulge any revival of Japanese militarism," said the New Party's Chairman Yu Muming at the seminar.

Shared anti-Japanese memory links the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, said Taiwanese scholar Qi Jialin, adding the anti-Japanese forces led by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China had fought bloody battles against the Japanese invaders.
