A three-month-old baby was sent to hospital "drunk" in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Wednesday after breastfeeding, the China News Service reported on Thursday.

The baby's mother, Zhang Xin, drank about half a liter of liquor at a party before nursing the crying baby when she returned home. The baby fell asleep about 20 minutes after feeding. Noticing the baby's face had become red and hot, and attributing these symptoms to a fever, she turned to a doctor who confirmed the baby had become drunk after feeding on her breast milk, affected with alcohol the mother had consumed.
