China's first electric aircraft finishes test flight

The first electric light aircraft manufactured in China has passed all the airworthiness certification tests administered by China's Civil Aviation Authority.

The aircraft underwent these rigorous tests at an airport in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Thursday, the People's Daily Overseas Edition reports.

The two-seater is the first aircraft designed in China, where the Chinese manufacturer holds all the patents to it.

Driven by an electric motor and powered by lithium batteries, the aircrafts has zero-pollution, generates very little noise and is easy to control.

It also has a low operation cost and is safe and comfortable and supports the country's sustainable development strategy.

This environmentally friendly and energy efficient aircraft can be used for pilot training and sightseeing.
