Wang Yanhong, a 22-year-old nurse from Zaozhuang who quit her job to sell baked sweet potatoes on the bitterly cold streets of Jinan, capital city of East China's Shandong province, has warmed the hearts of many locals, iqilu.com reported.

A placard posted on the tricycle she uses to carry potatoes asked for donations for the woman's ailing brother, who has leukemia.

The China Marrow Donor Program has helped Wang's brother find a bone marrow donor in April, but the high cost of the operation was too much for the family. Treatment has already cost the family 300,000 yuan ($48,180), and they need 1 million yuan more. Wang's desperate father has even considered selling one of his kidneys to save his son.
