7 killed as scaffolding collapses in SW. China

Seven people died and another eight were injured after scaffolding collapsed at a school facility in southwest China's Yunnan Province around 2 p.m. on Monday, local authorities said Tuesday morning.

Rescuers have pulled out 15 people, with seven already dead, at a student center which is under construction in Wenshan, Yunnan.

Over 100 rescuers including firefighters, police officers and medical staff are searching for those still trapped.
