A replica of the Titanic located on the Qijiang River in Daying county, Southwest China's Sichuan province, will start accepting its first pre-orders on June 15 in Hong Kong, as the ship plans to open for tourists in October 2017.

Tickets to board the ship will start at around 3,000 yuan (about $484) for an ordinary fare. A luxury fare price could go for up to hundreds of thousands of yuan. The vessel aims to resemble the original Titanic in every possible way and can accept 1,500 visitors per day.

Once aboard, visitors will enjoy a banquet from a menu identical to one from 100 years ago. They can participate in masquerade balls, pool parties, and various Vegas-style games as well. In addition, the replica will also bring to life several classic scenes from the movie Titanic, including when Jack sketches a naked Rose, and when passengers flee for their lives as the Titanic hits an iceberg and starts to sink.

The replica is being built on a 1:1 scale with the original Titanic, using 50,000 tons of steel and stretching 270 meters long and 28 meters wide. Despite a significant resemblance to the original Titanic, the replica will include several upgrades to improve safety and environmental performance.

The replica's total cost is expected to exceed 1 billion yuan, 50 percent more than the original Titanic. Construction is due to finish in August 2017, and the ship will then stay permanently in the Qijiang River.
