Tianducheng, a residential community in Hangzhou began construction in 2007 and is known as a knockoff of Paris with Parisian houses and a scaled replica of the Eiffel Tower standing 108 meters high. The downsized replica of the Eiffel Tower is surrounded by vegetable fields and residential apartment buildings in Tianducheng. "If you want to tour Paris in an afternoon, hurry up and come to Hangzhou," a foreign journalist joked.
