The site of the supposed world's tallest building becomes a fishing ground in central China. |
The "Sky City" project in Changshang, Hunan province, with a planned height of 838 metres, is owned by Broad Group, an enterprise based on the vision of unique technologies and the tenet of preserving life.
Zhang Yue, chairman with the company, took a private plane and landed near the construction site on July 20, 2013, for the foundation laying ceremony for "Sky City." At the time, it was envisioned that 208 floors accommodating up to 30,000 people would be constructed within seven months.
The project was expected to surpass the Burj Khalifa in Dubai as the world's tallest building.
Two years have passed since the foundation ceremony but the site remains undeveloped, becoming a tranquil spot notable for its natural scenery including water and fish!
