Chinese professor charged with spying released in US

A Chinese professor who was accused by U.S. authorities of economic espionage has been released.

According to the lawyer of Professor Zhang Hao, he was released from custody of United States Citizenship Services on July 29.

The lawyer said Zhang is in a good condition and will soon arrive home.

Zhang Hao is a professor from Tianjin University in north China.

On May 16, Zhang Hao was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport and was accused of 'stealing trade secrets' and of being an 'economic spy'.

He had been invited to attend the International Microwave conference in Phoenix.
