E-mail China.org.cn, August 5, 2015Twenty one children of migrant workers in Zhuhai's Guishan Island toured the city's downtown area last week.
Accompanied by volunteers from the Zhuhai Youth Comprehensive Service Center, the children toured the New Yuan Ming Palace, the museum and learned about disease prevention, the Zhuhai Daily reported. The tour lasted two days.
There are 80 primary school students on Guishan Island, most of whom have parents who work in the city as migrant workers. They rarely have the chance to visit the city center due to poor family situation and inconvenient transportation.
The service center has been organizing such tours since 2013. It also holds lectures and training classes for young people.
