A series of activities were held between August 8 and 10 in Fuzhou, capital of southeast China's Fujian Province to celebrate the 3rd Cross-Straits Youth Festival.

The festival, which began in April and will last until the end of the year, involves exchanges between Taiwan and Fujian provinces in science and technology, education, culture, art, sports, business and other fields. It has attracted a large crowd of young people from Taiwan, including Kungfu devotees and college students.

To attract more young people from Taiwan to start their businesses on the mainland, the local government in Fuzhou has invested heavily to establish a camp for cross-straits youth exchanges. The 134,000 square meter camp, will serve as a permanent site for the festival. It should be put into service by the end of next year.
