The woman was taking pictures of a tunnel dubbed "love tunnel" in a forested area of Nanjing where couples often flock to make wishes and take photos under its leafy green arch.

The woman stayed put to take pictures as the freight train moved towards her and blew its whistle, said photographer and train enthusiast Li Ziao, who was standing nearby.

The train was forced to a halt, and started again after the woman left the track, but she got back on again and started taking more photos, forcing it to a stop a second time.

Li posted pictures of the woman on his social media account.

Some Internet users said the woman was risking her life, while others criticized Li for not stopping her.
