Will paper money decay in the ground? Yes, of course. A 67-year-old man in a county in Deyang city, Sichuan province, buried 35,000 yuan and unfortunately found all the currency notes decayed, youth.cn reported on Thursday.

The man, surnamed Wu, thought saving money in the bank was inconvenient, so he dug a hole to hide the 35,000 yuan he feared would be stolen by a thief. Recently, he was surprised to find all the money had decayed.

Staff at a local bank helped him regain more than half of the money back by piecing 20,000 yuan in bank notes back together.
