Three people died and 18 others, many of them students, were injured as a man drove his car into a crowd on Tuesday morning in east China's Jiangxi Province, said government sources.

A sedan rammed into a crowd of students around 7:15am today, killing 3 and injuring 18 other in east China’s Jiangxi Province. The suspect is under control, China Central TV reported. --CCTV

The accident occurred at 7:15 am on a road in Fengxin County, said a publicity official of the county.

The injured have been rushed to hospitals. The driver was held by police.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
