Red Yao women, a minority ethnic group from Huangluo Yao Village in Southwest China, celebrate the first Long Hair Festival on April 9, 2016.

The Red Yao women have an average hair length of 4.6 feet, cutting it only once in their entire lives.

The village has made the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's first long hair village.

They believe that long hair brings longevity, wealth and good fortune.
